The Village is steeped in history and holds the title of one of the most beautiful villages in France.

The legend of Melusine strongly influences its character.

It has a magnificent Church

medieval walls

a ruined tower

and is cradled in a crook of the river Mere

Because of its beauty it is known as the village of artists many of whom have galleries there.

During the summer months it has activities most weekends but despite this there are peaceful walks; a great delight any time of year is to walk underneath the ramparts beside the lake or through the meandering streets to a café to watch life and then wander home.

To view the village log on to Google Earth and fly to [Vouvant France 85120] and click on the blue spots.
